This week, tomorrow to be exact I head out for 14 days on tour with the band, the Beautiful Bodies for the Vans Warped Tour. Beautiful Bodies played Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands last year and WON out of like 30,000 bands. Their prize, to play the Ernie stage at Vans Warped Tour 2013. Lucky enough to be some great friends of mine, they have invited me on tour with them to sell merch, pass flyers & take photos of the experience.

I had the opportunity to fly to San Diego for a hotel job this past week. I cover all over the country but this was my first west coast property. I ended up extending my ticket so I could meet up with my long lost love, Encinitas, and a couple bff I haven’t seen in 5 years. The bonus was taking my son with me so he could experience the ocean for the very first time! Many memories were made on this trip. And some pretty rad photos too boot. Because whats a trip to South Cali without beaches, wind blown hair and palm trees. Oh and this pretty lady I’ve known for over seven years. Wanna see the trip album, check it here: DESIRAE
A great friend and creative visionary, Sarah Nelsen, and I teamed up Friday March 22 to collaborate on a collection of dresses, scarves and a laser cut necklace she produced this past winter. The scarves in particular are inspired prints from a trip to Morocco.
I love teaming up with like minded creative individuals that share the same goals! Our creative lady team for the morning consisted of Drew Proud for Makeup and Jennifer Pray from Pinkie Couture salon for hair. We had the pleasure of borrowing jewelry from Trajet, hand-made one of a kind gold pieces based on vintage classics. Our gorgeous model Isabella was from Voices& and for fourteen years old this girl rocked! I believe she is a natural behind the camera and going to go far.
Of course I couldn’t leave you hanging so heres a few shots of the day:
Wednesday I participated in an artist showcase with RAW at Harrahs Voodoo Lounge. First time I have shown my work publicly in a long time. It was a great network even and I have some really awesome friends who came out to support me. Here are some shots from my booth:
I had the pleasure of photography the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Benefit Battle of the Bands at the Cashew sunday in downtown Kansas City. If you’re not familiar with the HRC, they envision an America where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are ensured equality at home, at work and in every community. Check them out on Facebook and join the cause!
